Plots/connections/comments/complaints? Yes please! Auryn's new in town, so he's a blank slate, though he may know old families by name as he has immersed himself in esoteric witch trivia.

His background is here. Or, for the quick and wacky version:
  • Auryn always wears a set of dog tags given to him by his father during an early visit to him in foster care. They're pretty obviously charmed but Auryn hasn't looked into it, and doesn't need to. They're almost a part of him at this point and they're the only thing he has of his father.
  • He's quite a powerful magic user himself though he hasn't got the finesse he'd like to.
  • Auryn would not describe himself as an optimist at all, but it takes a certain kind of optimism to believe in the power of revolution, of resistance, to change, and he does.
  • He absolutely, without question, believes in civil disobedience, and he is not a pacifist about it.
  • Auryn craves acceptance and love, but he doesn't really believe in it.
  • He was in love once, in Montana. He wasn't willing to give up fighting for it though.
  • He has a bit of a southern accent: like most things about his childhood he goes to pains to hide it but it kind of gently affects vowels. He speaks very carefully.
  • He enjoys debate. He enjoys riling people up and getting them thinking. He would definitely use the term 'riling (someone) up'.
  • Auryn gives a person one chance and he does so completely and ends it just as quickly. Doing something that hurts him specifically doesn't always negate that chance, but it's not always explicitly necessary, either.
  • He nearly always carries a knife of some sort on his person.
  • He's capable with his hands, without the use of magic: he picks up manual skills fast and isn't afraid of hard labor.
  • He's been arrested quite a few times but has only a couple convictions, mostly on slap-on-the-wrist charges.

*picks debate point*

Lena has a lot of Thoughts, but is unsure about the weight of her ideas and opinions. They need to end up somewhere, somehow.

Totally need to do something with Auryn and Les. My little Les-poo is a total badass/powerful when it comes to magic, but his line of thinking on the civil disobedience is not on the same wave length. For one Les' family are the ones that crossover between 'species'. They gave humans help to fight against witches that prob think exactly like Auryn.

Very least they can have an awesome witch-y duel.

Davin is such a good, kind-hearted little witch completely naive to the full scope of his powers. Do what thou wilt indeed, Auryn.

He's mysterious and thusly Bonnie will be fascinated and try not to be all at once. Because these mysterious witchy types are nothing but trouble... kinda.

I'm not quite sure in what guise they'd interact, I can see the, having similar views on things. (Bonnie grew up surrounded by a lot of prejudice because her Mum was a single teen Mum in a small town, who had to work 3 jobs to keep them in a house with food. And that meant taking Bonnie with her to work sometimes). But at the same time, I can imagine they'd have things they didn't agree on.

Bonnie isn't a witch, but her step-Dad is and her little sisters are all half-witch. So she was surrounded by the culture for at least 6 years.

Um, if you're interested in plotting them of course~

We are thinking of pulling Auryn into the Nerium plot you and I have discussed. I'm going to email out people soon for potential plotting with this ;)

Powerful witch who doesn't believe in sitting back in the wake of bigotry against witches and attempts to regulate them? If Auryn doesn't find Nerium first, she will be finding him.

And possibly discovering new and confusing parts of herself because he is the epitome of what she could find alluring.

I would love if their thread from Test Drive was game canon.

TEEHEE

I just really want a plot someday where some dark witch goes after Davin because of his extreme power and the fact that he's like, pure of heart. (But not of mind, badum-tsh~)

Maybe Auryn could have even heard of Davin's family? If he studies and gets all these different artifacts and stuff. In my head they're one of the most powerful magical families out there.

And Davin is like tralalala I can lift stuff with my mind~

Oh no, no, I didn't mean that Auryn would be the dark witch. I sort of slipped into ramble mode. XD

But it will be interesting, them getting to know each other. Davin is relatively naive in the way the world feels about magic. In Boston, he didn't know magic was real and his powers hadn't manifested yet, and then he came to Siren Cove. He's really only left to go to Ireland, where he was of course was under his grandmother's protection.

He will probably have a perfect opportunity once I get her EP written where she's built a shrine while she sleeps....and will find it when she wakes up there naked.

(She's naked a lot.)

No, it was super interesting!! And it would be an interesting plot! And yeah, I like that about Davin. He sleeps around and curses and drinks and smokes but ultimately he's a very good person and his heart is pure. And I know that can be a very powerful thing in regards to dark magic.

It'll definitely be fun! I'd love to call their dry run thread canon and have him run into Davin in the post where he's beaten up. That would be super interesting!

Certainly. The Parkers are a morally grey entity. Or that's what I've always envisioned and would like to pull on those threads even harder in the near future (Les has been significantly wrapped up in matters of the heart of late but he really enjoys and identifies with being a witch to the point where he struggles to understand humans just as much as Nerium or Auryn prob do at times) but Les is a little more Les so he just rolls with things but letting him explore his witchy powers more is maybe next phase.

As a witch Les is defs in a grey area. Mainly because Les powers are fire which in itself is a "dark" power but he also can control light and energy and even lighting. He just doesn't use his fire powers in a bad way. However, he could veeerrry easily go down that road. He's made deals with Nerium when he's needed to and on the whole they are respectful of each other. Now he has never been truly tempted to use his powers against another witch (in-game) but I think he could and would be a force to reckon with if the situation ever arose.

WIZARD SNARK. Yes. I think they would have a very interesting relationship.

Edit to add: I feel like while Les and Auryn wouldn't be fully on the same wave length there is a potential friendship/partnership. Les is totally like "a outsmart the foe like Jim Kirk while being as snarky as possible" type of fighter, and he definitely doesn't like authority figures or being told what to do. He has no problems breaking the rules he thinks serve no point. So I think parts of him would totes like Auryn and they would potentially work so well together but the lines they are willing to cross would just be different. They will be Angel and Spike ok.

Get him to her woods ;)

But yes, I am rally intrigued by their potential dynamic/relationship. Nerium will clearly be drawn to him based on the strength of his power and the fact that he agrees with her about regulatons on witchcraft where few others have means a) she will view hm as an ally/potential partner in magic which is something she has long sought, and b) he will likely be in a key position to challenge her very small worldview (on things like gender, for example)

I love the idea them challenging one another - because Nerium has never allowed herself to be challenged by another. Not to mention potential chemistry... Dear god I fear for the world where Nerium is in love/lust/crush

She was brought up with a lot of brothers, but she might have to be reminded that fighting is not an option to get things across.

I would never go back on Angel and Spike. I really enjoy that aspect of foes/partners too. Powerful together vs. destructive apart. It could be very fun to play out, and I really enjoy doing the magical~ plot lines. They are fun to write, and I like writing Les' doing witch~ things.

Awesome! Parker backstory is something I haven't tried to play out enough and really really want to do so. I think now is a good time too considering how devastated Les was during/after the cave. I think he needs a new way to think about his mother other than just being so sad that he lost her at a young age. The one way to do that is get more connected to his family's history.

Yes. LES IS A FIRE WITCH. He has very good grasp of basic magic like working from spellbooks and potion-making. But if he were to need to defend himself, his power is fire. When we did the island plot, he used it to save him and Alfie~ that's the last time he's really used them. Other than I have a headcanon that during the winter Les is a walking furnace, lol. But also exactly. Foes are supposed to be cut from the same cloth. That's what makes it fun.

Excellent!

Yes, Bonnie is very much at ease with witchy thing. Her sisters are currently aged about 5-8 years, so there is probably a lot of accidental magic happened or happening in their house at the moment.

I'm sure there will be a lot of chance for it later.
