plotting...

Plots/connections/comments/complaints? Yes please! Auryn's new in town, so he's a blank slate, though he may know old families by name as he has immersed himself in esoteric witch trivia.

His background is here. Or, for the quick and wacky version:
  • Auryn always wears a set of dog tags given to him by his father during an early visit to him in foster care. They're pretty obviously charmed but Auryn hasn't looked into it, and doesn't need to. They're almost a part of him at this point and they're the only thing he has of his father.
  • He's quite a powerful magic user himself though he hasn't got the finesse he'd like to.
  • Auryn would not describe himself as an optimist at all, but it takes a certain kind of optimism to believe in the power of revolution, of resistance, to change, and he does.
  • He absolutely, without question, believes in civil disobedience, and he is not a pacifist about it.
  • Auryn craves acceptance and love, but he doesn't really believe in it.
  • He was in love once, in Montana. He wasn't willing to give up fighting for it though.
  • He has a bit of a southern accent: like most things about his childhood he goes to pains to hide it but it kind of gently affects vowels. He speaks very carefully.
  • He enjoys debate. He enjoys riling people up and getting them thinking. He would definitely use the term 'riling (someone) up'.
  • Auryn gives a person one chance and he does so completely and ends it just as quickly. Doing something that hurts him specifically doesn't always negate that chance, but it's not always explicitly necessary, either.
  • He nearly always carries a knife of some sort on his person.
  • He's capable with his hands, without the use of magic: he picks up manual skills fast and isn't afraid of hard labor.
  • He's been arrested quite a few times but has only a couple convictions, mostly on slap-on-the-wrist charges.

Certainly. The Parkers are a morally grey entity. Or that's what I've always envisioned and would like to pull on those threads even harder in the near future (Les has been significantly wrapped up in matters of the heart of late but he really enjoys and identifies with being a witch to the point where he struggles to understand humans just as much as Nerium or Auryn prob do at times) but Les is a little more Les so he just rolls with things but letting him explore his witchy powers more is maybe next phase.

As a witch Les is defs in a grey area. Mainly because Les powers are fire which in itself is a "dark" power but he also can control light and energy and even lighting. He just doesn't use his fire powers in a bad way. However, he could veeerrry easily go down that road. He's made deals with Nerium when he's needed to and on the whole they are respectful of each other. Now he has never been truly tempted to use his powers against another witch (in-game) but I think he could and would be a force to reckon with if the situation ever arose.

WIZARD SNARK. Yes. I think they would have a very interesting relationship.

Edit to add: I feel like while Les and Auryn wouldn't be fully on the same wave length there is a potential friendship/partnership. Les is totally like "a outsmart the foe like Jim Kirk while being as snarky as possible" type of fighter, and he definitely doesn't like authority figures or being told what to do. He has no problems breaking the rules he thinks serve no point. So I think parts of him would totes like Auryn and they would potentially work so well together but the lines they are willing to cross would just be different. They will be Angel and Spike ok.

I would never go back on Angel and Spike. I really enjoy that aspect of foes/partners too. Powerful together vs. destructive apart. It could be very fun to play out, and I really enjoy doing the magical~ plot lines. They are fun to write, and I like writing Les' doing witch~ things.

Awesome! Parker backstory is something I haven't tried to play out enough and really really want to do so. I think now is a good time too considering how devastated Les was during/after the cave. I think he needs a new way to think about his mother other than just being so sad that he lost her at a young age. The one way to do that is get more connected to his family's history.

Yes. LES IS A FIRE WITCH. He has very good grasp of basic magic like working from spellbooks and potion-making. But if he were to need to defend himself, his power is fire. When we did the island plot, he used it to save him and Alfie~ that's the last time he's really used them. Other than I have a headcanon that during the winter Les is a walking furnace, lol. But also exactly. Foes are supposed to be cut from the same cloth. That's what makes it fun.
